Breadboard Residency

Currently this program subsidizes monthly NextFab Studio membership fees for participating artists. Residents are responsible for any other incurred expenses. This can be more or less depending on extent to which artists opt to use residency time  to learn how to use NextFab resources  and create their work independently in contrast to collaborating with the NextFab team in a more conceptual relationship where NextFab project managers and technicians  work to help you realize your objectives.

Breadboard will work primarily with local artists during this pilot year. Selected artists will have the opportunity to exhibit their work at Breadboard’s project space EKG upon completion of their residency. Two primary aims of this program are:  1) to offer artists who have demonstrated skills and knowledge of prototyping technology or other creative tools at NextFab Studio, and will be able to transition quickly into a working routine with minimal need of instruction. 2) to work with artists who have demonstrated clear objectives and professionalism in previous work but have little to no experience with new creative technologies.

There is no deadline and all submitted proposals will be reviewed on a quarterly basis. Individuals interested in this program should contact us at: breadboard[at]sciencecenter[dot]org Subject: RESIDENCY
