Art & Science XXI: Scent is Life
May 19, 2006- July 1, 2006
The Science Center’s Esther M. Klein Gallery and the Monell Chemical Senses Center are pleased to present Scent is Life,
a multimedia exhibition that explores the powerful and personal nature of scent. Expressed through the unique artistic vision
of Christopher Brosius, Scent is Life reveals how smell, the most evocative of senses, touches each of us uniquely. Winner of four Fragrance Foundation awards and described as one of the most innovative perfumers of the 21st Century, Brosius pairs his distinctive and reminiscent scents – such as In the Library and
At the Beach 1966 – with text, visual imagery, sound and everyday objects to highlight the potent influence of smell on individual emotion, memory and perception.
